Everything I pick up from them I instantly fall in love with, and with this is no exception. The world building is just amazing. I love that with all of their books the world isn't explained up front. It makes the book more mysterious, and the reader sitting there coming up with different theories. 

Dina is pretty kickass herself. And you have to feel bad for her, struggling to get by. Not to mention her parents just disappeared one day and no one has any clue what happened. What's a good book without a love interest or two? Although myself I preferred Sean. I wished there were a little more romance in it and that it was a little bit longer. But you take what you can get.

The book was exactly what I come to expect from a Ilona Andrews book. I think one of my favorite things about the book was the humor. There were parts that had me laughing so hard I was crying. If you haven't read this yet, you should. And the illustrations included was pure amazing.

Looks like this will be made into a series. That news made me beyond excited and already want more of this series. I'll be looking forward for the next installment impatiently.

It's not often you can find originality in a YA paranormal series. I knew by the synopsis that this book sounded interesting, and I couldn't wait to see how it separated itself from everything else out there.
I was pleasantly surprised. While it could be a little predictable, but I liked that it had it's own original story. I really liked the characters, Tessa in particular and the things they went through.

After Tessa was 'attacked' after meeting a sexy new guy, she doesn't think very much about the scratches she pertained, not until later when her body starts to go through some changes. Ones that are very painful. She has no idea what is happening to her, but her parents do, and there is only one answer.
After her dad's boss/friend recognizes the signs and knows he did this, he takes Tessa in to his school to be able to amongst her own kind. It's the only thing possible to do before she can be around others without hurting them. Yes --- Tessa is being changed into a werewolf. It's not something she wanted, but it is done and she can only accept it and make the best out of the situation.

I didn't like Dastien at first, but the more we saw of him, and the consequences of one moment, I think you can understand him a bit.  I ended up adoring his relationship with Tessa. It's not an easy one, but the wait for them to get to the right space was glorious to read about. They really were perfect for one another. Sure, things didn't start as well, and they didn't start off on the right foot, but I felt he made up for his past descretions. Sometimes you just can't fight fate. Things happen for a reason, and there is a reason his heart chose her.

The other characters were fun and interesting. I look forward to see where the author goes with this series. I will be looking forward to the next book, and see how Tessa is handling her wolf, friends and her relationship.

A real fun, interesting take on the were genre. If you are a fan, then this book is definitely for you. It's not to be missed.

It's been six months and Hedi hasn't had the easiest time with her mate's pack, especially given they have no proof that she is even his mate. She is half fae. She does not hold his scent, so they probably don't think they should follow her just because she claims such things.
When the North American Council begins to investigate the pack, Hedi begins to realize she needs to step up and take charge as the Alpha otherwise she could lose it all. She was not going to let that happen. She couldn't let Trowbridge down in his absence, no matter how long that might be.

This book goes from strength to strength. Hedi becomes more confident, stronger and more self aware. She starts to become the person they need her to be, but it doesn't come without some hiccups. She gets put through many tests, though she does not pass them all, but I felt she learns from each one differently. She grew much in this book. She had to, since she only had herself to rely on. She had no family. No mate. If there was something that had to get done, she had to do it herself because there would be nobody there to save her.

When Trowbridge does return --- yes, indeed he does, it's not under the best circumstances, and soon Hedi realized that some things has changed. Not only is he older -- you see, time works differently over there. While it might have only been six, hard months without him for her, for him through, it's been years... man. years without his mate.. that cannot have been easy, but he has loved her through it all. He doesn't return alone though --- he brings her back a surprise..

I was so happy when he returned, because I couldn't wait to see how they interacted with one another, since the last time they saw each other, they did the mating ritual and she pushed him over to the gates, which was not the best goodbye she could have given him, but things she did for love.
Trowbridge might have changed a bit here and there, the things he went through over the other realm, as that's understandable, but he is just as alpha-like, stubborn, protective and sexy as hell as he was before.

Hedi and Trowbridge don't exactly pick up where they left off romantic-wise, they have many things to work through, but slowly, they find a place that's comfortable and just right for them to start from again, to finally be a couple which they have yearned for so long. Things aren't going to be easy for them, but least they are together and will battle things as they come. That's all you can really do.
Leigh Evans has written their relationship beautifully and natural that I can't wait to see what happens with them next. They are the real deal, I knew that from the moment they met again in the first book in this series. There was always something between them that just couldn't be ignored. Not then, and certainly not even now. It's now and forever.

This book was recommended to me by a friend who thought I'd like it. I could kick myself for not getting around to reading it sooner than I did. I definitely loved it.
I loved Hedi. She is a strong, passionate, head-strong woman who has been through way too much in her life. She lost her parents and her brother in one night, and has one person to blame for it -- her old crush, Robson Trowbridge, who comes crashing back into her life whether she likes it or not.

When her aunt gets kidnapped by a pack of weres and forces her to steal something, the only person that can help her is the last person she would ever go to.
Going by Bridge now, he never expected to see Hedi again, and he doesn't quite remember her, since it has been over 10 years since that very night that not only changed her life forever, but also his own as well.
When the pair of them are forced to work together, something begins to transpire between them, something that has been lingering between them for way too long, especially for her, who has been in love with him since high school, and it will be something they can't ignore.

The chemistry between them is sizzling, but they have many issues between them that will determine whether a future is in the cards for these two love birds, mainly is whether he is still pining over his dead wife. Yeah... that's always a cockblocker, right?
The other thing? Hedi remembering that his family being the cause of the murder of her family and the kidnapping of her twin brother, who she has not seen since.

This was a very strong debut, and as soon as I finished it, I couldn't wait to get my hands on the sequel, because that cliffhanger? Yeah.. you just needed to know what was going to happen next for these two.

A debut as strong as anything, Leigh Evans does an amazing job with the kickass characters, mythology and world-building to boot.

A definite recommend read.

A little over a year later, and I'm finally finish with the series. My first reaction? Thank God! As I mention in previous reviews I have a complicated relationship with this series. I wasn't impressed with the first book, but I loved the second book. But the last half of this series? Disappointed. I should of stopped. Most of it I do have to say is for my dislike of Quinn, and Riley choosing to be with him.

Killing her soul mate has taken a toll on Riley, and her worst fear of becoming a cold murderer like her brother is coming true. She knows she needs to get out, but she doesn't have much options. It's either the Directorate or the military. But she can't shake the last thing Kye told her, that Blake wants revenge, and will come after her. Which is how she found herself kidnapped, and lost all her memories. Honesty? That was my favorite part of the book. And even kidnapped without her memories of who she is Riley finds herself in the middle of a murder investigation. Like we've established trouble finds Riley. Of course the murder investigation she finds herself in has connections to the case she was working on when she was kidnapped. Really the murders weren't that relevant to the story. Even after reading it, I couldn't remember the details of who it it and why.

Like everyone one of the previous books this book didn't have enough of Rhoan or Liander. Kade's death and absently was very much noted. While kidnapped there was a wolf that insisted was her brother, but she knew he wasn't. Even when he came clean he still swore he was her brother. At first I thought it was Rhoan undercovered. A moment later I knew it wasn't, but I just knew that he was some kind of sibling to her. And what do you know, I was right. Riley founds out that her mother had married, and this was her step brother. On top of that her and Rhoan has half siblings. I was sure we would see closure with their previous pack and more with their mother. We did have closure but not what I wanted to see. Barely anything with their mother. What I disappointment. I feel like the end of this series was Riley coming to terms with who she is and her past.

I'm still upset she ended up with Quinn, and even that Kye was her soul mate. It really should of been Cole. Now that would of worked wonders. I think I mentioned it in the last review or not, but I get the message in this. There are times when a love is stronger than soul mates or even destiny, and dreams can change. But the author never gave it a fighting chance with Riley and her soul mate. Speaking of soul mates and family, not sure how I feel about Riley and Liander having kids. Yes it was said that the three of them would raise them, but it was never clear on who would be who. Would Riley be seen as their mom? Which I believe would be yes. But would both Liander and Rhoan been known as their dads? Or just Liander? I find the whole situation weird, but maybe in their werewolf culture not. But then again their pack would be unique, especially considering Riley married a vampire. Which is another thing. Quinn made it clear he wasn't interested in kids and didn't want to actively help raise them. How can you be with someone, no matter how much you love them, they didn't want the same things you do? Especially that wouldn't want to be actively interested in your own kids lives? I really did love the last line in the book, even though it was kind of weird. It gave the impression that Liander and Riley would be raising the kids. No mention of Rhoan. 

"Those," he said with a grin that lit up his entire face, "are our babies. Riley Jensen, you and I are having twins."

.  The series wasn't bad. Just not my thing. I still believe Quinn isn't the right person for Riley. And Riley getting out of the Directorate way too easily. I feel like there's loose strings left hanging. Like the drugs in her system. That I feel was a huge part of the series. And I feel cheated that we didn't see Rhoan finally settling down with Liander. I know there's a spin off series, and against my better judgement I've agree to at least read the first book, but I don't feel like these issues would be answered in there.

As far as Riley is concern she could care less if she sees Kye Murphy ever again, even if he's her soul mate. And Kye feels the same way. Yet while she's investigating her new case Kye shows up again. And not only does he show up, but apparently he has had a small change of heart and can't stay away from Riley.

You start to feel bad for the girl. Seems like she can't catch a break from the gruesome cases. But having issues in her love life, she throws herself into work. Not to mention that Rhoan and his soul mate Liander has decided they want a child and form their own pack, and they want to use one of Riley's eggs so it'll be her child too. I don't know why she hesitated to give them an answer. All along all she says she wants is to find her soul mate and to have children. Yet she chooses to stay with Quinn, who will never be her soul mate and can't even understand the werewolf culture nor does he approve it; which I do have to say he has gotten better over time of trying to be understanding, and not only can he not give Riley children he wouldn't want children. Yes Riley might love him, but sometimes love isn't enough.

And as with previous books the small amount of Quinn in the one was way to much for me. And we barely got to see Kade, Rhoan, and Liander. The series would be so much better off seeing more of them, especially since this series started because Rhoan was missing.

The ending was surprising, I had suspected it along with Riley, but I was hopping it wasn't true. I had really liked Kye. Even though he did have Rhoan shot and threatened to kill everyone Riley cares about, I was really hoping for a turnaround. But he was never given a fighting chance from day one. And that pisses me off. Granted he turned out to be crazy at the end and was even I couldn't forgive him for his sins. There's two surprising deaths at the end. Ok maybe just one surprising death. The other one was kind of given. But the one that shocked me the most made me so mad! There's a part of me that is still extremely pissed off and even considered not even reading the last and final book.

 The final installment in the Shadow Falls series picks up about two weeks after the last book. Kylie has left Shadow Falls and gone to the chameleon compound with her grandfather and great aunt. But it's not what she thought it would be.The chameleon are in constant fear that they will be discovered, and they keep the teens isolated from the world. No phone, internet or anything. Only when they mature, which means they are able to change their pattern at will, are they allow out in the world. Kylie has never felt more alone then she does hidden away. Her grandfather does allow her limited phone access. And of course like every book, this one starts off with a new ghost. This one insists that Kylie needs to kill him or she will be killed. It took her most of the book to figure out who is the he. Which the whole time I just wanted to slap her. I knew from the beginning who the ghost was referring to.

It doesn't take Burnett to find where their hidden lair is located. Mario has been spotted in town and a fellow camper has been attacked, and Burnett is pretty sure Mario was behind it. As Burnett points out he found the compound, it's only a matter of time before Mario finds her. And back to Shadow Falls Kylie goes.

You have to feel sorry for Kylie. A psychopath is after her, she has a ghost that claims that it's a big possibility she will be killed, issues with parents and even grandparents, plus she still has boy trouble. This book kind of annoyed me, or at least I found Della annoying. I'm not even sure why. I feel like the book lacked Miranda. She just wasn't in it as much as Della. I love both girls, but I find Miranda a lot more interesting. Burnett and Holiday were amazing as always. Now a spin off series or even a short story with them would be fantastic. There's even a little twist in the story concerning these two, a very happy ending.

Kylie finally gets to meet her father's adoptive grandparents, and her mom is not too happy. Speaking of her mom, we learn who exactly is her boyfriend. I knew from the first moment that he was evil and after Kylie.

I'm sure you heard of saving the best for last? Well in this case I'm saving the worst for last. I loved the last book because it seemed that Kylie would end up picking Derek. This whole book to me felt like a cop out where Lucas was concerned. Even though he had pledged his soul to another girl and promise to marry her, he has to sign a contract afterwards to make it official. And guess who didn't do it?! What the hell was the point in having Kylie witness all of that?! I'm sorry not signing some paper doesn't and shouldn't change the fact that you pledge YOUR SOUL to another girl. Oh he gave up everything for Kylie? This is coming a little too late. The whole series he has put his pack before Kylie, and then in the last book he just gives up everything for her? Not buying it. Not to mention they kept bringing up when Derek slept with his ex and "cheated" on Kylie. Umm excuse me, Kylie and Derek were NOT together. And Kylie even said they weren't together when it happened so it wasn't cheating. And now all of a sudden in this book it's changed to cheating on her?! Really?! It was like Hunter twisted everything so it would be ok for her to end with Lucas. Honestly I lost respect.

Ok rant over. Besides a huge amount of Lucas in the book, the book was really good. Just what you come to expect from a book in the series. And everyone gets their "happy ending". Which I don't agree with the choices. Well everyone but Della who is being stubborn. But I guess the ending sets up nicely for the spin off about Della. Which honestly I won't be reading.

In all I couldn't get past Kylie's choices and how details gets twisted around. I'm really disappointed in the book and feels like everything was a cop out.

I have a complicated relationship with this series. I wasn't impressed with the first book, but with each book after that I started to really like the series. Now I'm back to the series being blah. I think Quinn is an ass, and stand him. And Riley must be dumb to jump right back into bed and a relationship with him without questioning anything.

While working a new case, Riley runs into bounty hunter Kye Murphy, who was serving as a body guard to her old pack when she was working a case for them.  Riley becomes annoy when he keeps popping up at her crime scenes and repeatedly threaten to have him arrested. Which in lie my first annoyance with this book. After the hundredth time threatening to have him arrested I just want to tell her to STFU. If she wanted to have him arrested she would of done it the second time he showed up. But at the same time there's an attraction that neither one of them can deny, no matter how much they don't want it.

I just want to know is Riley the only guardian that actually works on cases? And why does Riley always gets the worst ones? This book had way too much Quinn in it for my taste, and not enough of Rhoan and Liander or even Kade. I was disappointed that Quinn was her only lover in this book. She has said before that her nature needs more than one lover. And I don't buy this she has two souls so she has more than one soul mate bs. Rhoan is the same thing she is, and he doesn't have more than one soul mate. Riley is more wolf than vampire while Rhoan is vice versa, so if anyone would have two soul mates it would be him and not Riley.

I knew exactly who the killers were once Ben told her that two women own the strip club and couldn't get more information on them. Once Riley starts digging into records and saying oh these must be coincidences, how stupid can you be?! After the first coincidence she should of been very suspicious. And what was with her saying my vampire every page? I get telling strangers I need to get home to my vampire, but beyond that? It's like she wanted everyone to know that she has a vampire. Usually I love Riley. But in this book I just wanted to come through the pages and bitch slap some sense into her.

And luck would have it she finally finds her soul mate, and it's none other than Kye. Which Riley is very upset over claiming she doesn't even like him. She doesn't even know him to make that conclusion. Not to mention both were very flirty and playful during the whole book. All because he's a bounty hunter? He does the same thing she does, except she works for the government and he's pretty much a gun for hire.

From the end of the previous book I could tell what direction the series is going into. And honestly I didn't want to read this book or finish the series. I'm thankful there's only two more books left.

Things are never dull in Shadow Falls. Something is always going on whether it's ghosts, romance, drama or teenage bickering.
These are very quick and easy reads, you can read them in such a short amount of time as it's so easy to get sucked into this world that cc. hunter has created. It's so alive. Magic and exhilirating.

Taken at Dusk has it's own twist and surprises. Kylie soon gets the answers she is looking for, but is she ready for them, or will it be too much to handle? There are all sorts of problems that come in this story, and it is one surprise after another.
Kylie finally decides between the boys and gives Lucas a chance to see where things go.  That doesn't mean her feelings for Derek disappears, especially when he says and does things that make you swoon and root for him.
And while Kylie may not know what she is, that is what makes it harder for Lucas's pack to accept them as a couple, because it is kinda forbidden for them to be together. Ah, werewolves and their laws, eh?

This book has its fair share of romantic dramas, and not just including the current triangle between Kylie and the boys. We also have Holiday and Burnett, and also Miranda and Perry. Both of these relationship aren't coming easy, but sometimes, girls can be picky.
There is also some great moments between the girls ... Kylie and her two roomates. I really love this friendship they all have together. They are all each different from one another, but have bonded in a way that is really admiring.

When I think about the triangle, its actually quite well done. Most YA series... someone always gets hurt, killed off or leaves. But this series, c.c. hunter seems to be doing is better than most I have read in a long time. They can be done right, it's a matter of how you plot it out and stay true to the characters.

And while I have my preference, I do think it's hard to tell which way it will end up.

Hunter's fourth book in her Shadow Falls series like the last one, picks up right where the previous left off. And with a new book, Kylie has a new ghost problem. Only this time it's the ghost of Holiday who definitely isn't dead. Not wanting to scare Holiday she lets everyone pretend the face the ghost is using is from someone from back home.

Trying to figure out who the ghost really is, isn't easy. But with the help of Derek they realized that Holiday has or well had a twin sister, Hannah.  Not to mention they are sure that Holiday doesn't know her sister is dead. Plus Hannah keeps on insisting that Holiday is endangered and Kylie can save her. The person wanting to kill Holiday ends up being kind of a surprise. Wasn't my first guess, even though at one point I did figure it out. But what I didn't like was why it was never explained why he wanted to murder her. And we even learn and get to meet Holiday's ex fiancee, and learn why Holiday has trust issues. And even though the book started off with Holiday and Burnett having a heated makeout secession, neither one is brave enough to admit their feelings. But the ending shows them both making a huge step forward and finally getting together.

Even though Kylie finally finds out what type of supernatural she is, her identity crisis doesn't stop there. It doesn't help that nobody has heard of a supernatural chameleon before. And here is one of my issues, nobody believes her but she repeats over and over throughout the book that's what her father told her and she believes him. One time is enough. It doesn't need to be repeated over and over. It doesn't stop when her brain pattern changes several time over the book. First it takes form of a witch, then vampire and finally a werewolf. Plus she gets the main powers of whatever species she "is" at the time. She meets up with her grandfather and great aunt. And they confirm that they are chameleons, and they can take form of any supernatural pattern, having a bit of every species in their DNA. Her grandfather insists that she isn't safe at the camp, and her only chance at survival is coming to live with them, to be with her own kind. Kylie refuses to leave the camp. She knows she belongs there. But after a betrayal, she realizes that she needs to go live with them for a little bit.

And then as always is her boys trouble. A fair warning, if you are a huge fan of Lucas and easily offended, you may want to stop reading. Lucas is a douche. And he has proved this big time in this book. Now along with last book, there were moments when Lucas did make me swoon, and damn it Lucas I don't like me. Not nice to make me swoon. Lucas won't be around Kylie in public, because of his pack. He claims that by the end of the month, he'll be on the council and they can be together in public. That he can start making changes. Yet he doesn't share what he needs to do with Kylie. But he doesn't even try to understand Kylie and what she needs to do. Even though the book seems that Kylie isn't in love with Derek, her heart belongs solely to Lucas, I beg to differ. I think Kylie is scared to admit her true feelings for Derek. Not to mention that the ghost tells Kylie she should choose Derek, for most of the book Miranda and Della are anti Lucas, and when she tells Sara that she has chosen one of them she immediately thinks it's Derek. Plus Miranda tells Kylie that she hardly ever talks about Lucas, but she used to talk about Derek all the time. I won't go in details to what happens, but Lucas does the ultimate betrayal. Kylie has to find out from Fredericka, whom is under the impression that Kylie knows and understands. I knew from the beginning Lucas would break her heart. He's an ass. And Kylie deserves so much better. I've mentioned in previous reviews that I don't buy the whole he fell instantly in love with her and has been waiting for 11 years. They were 6 and 7 years old. And it was revealed in this book that he had climbed in her window one night and kissed her. WTF?! These are kids we are talking about. This is beyond creepy. Lucas just needs to GTFO like NOW. It's shown in this book that he will always put the pack above her. Derek has been there for her time and time again. And he's more understanding than Lucas is about her.

Overall, the book is pretty amazing. And the next one can't come out fast enough. I need to know who Kylie finally chooses, which I'm pretty sure it will be Derek.

I would say this spinoff book has been in the works longer than most books are, and longer than it should have.
I understand Melissa's reasons for why this has taken so long to be released, but since it has relevance to Gates of Paradise, so it being released just before the release of the final book in the Blue Bloods series makes sense. In a way, I am glad that it happened like this.  And I am glad I was able to get the paperback, which I was given as a prize for my participation in the Blue Bloods read-a-long, and it was a pleasure in re-reading all these books again as they are one of my favourite series in the YA genre.

Melissa is one of my favourite YA authors, and I look forward to reading what she has planned next. She could re-write the dictionary for all I care, and I would read every word. Because I know she has this unique way she tells her stories that sucks you in every bit of the way.

Anyway... I should talk about the book, right? Yes, well...

Back at the end of..Van Alen Legacy, I believe it was -- Bliss had sacrificed herself to be rid of Lucifer, and she was changed. Human. Her mother, Allegra had told her that she had a mission to send her on. That her role in the battle between the Blue Bloods and the Silver Bloods was just as important. She was told to find the Hellhounds, tame them and convince them to return to help in the battle between good and evil. To give them the home they once had, and still craved.
And so that is what Bliss did. With the help of Aunt Jane, otherwise known as the Watcher, she set off in search for the hellbounds unknown on what she might run into during the course of her journey.

While Bliss was on the lookout for the hellhounds, it is not who she encountered though. Who she discovered would change her forever.
Meet Lawson and his pack. They are wolves, but also part human... that was as long as they didn't have their collars. Back in hell, Lawson and his packmates were biding their time for the chance to escape. To go someplace else so they wouldn't have to be turned into Hell's Hounds. If that ever happened... well, nothing good could ever come out of that. That would be worse than death itself..
Bliss soon finds herself in their company as they try to discover Lucifer's plan, his ultimate goal, and just what it is will surprise you. Praise the Blue Bloods that they succeed in defeating him once and for all.

The relationship between Lawson and Bliss was an interesting one. While in this book, it was not really romantic, but there was moments between them where you can see there was a connection between that that could be life-lasting, and if only they took the chance, it would be good for them both.
They both have been through their own shares of loss. With Dylan for Bliss, who she finally learned to let go, and Lawson lost a girl he loved, or thought he loved. A packmate who was taken too fast, which only made the loss all the more tragic for him.
I also loved his brothers. They may not be his real brothers but they were as close as brothers could be and that was what happened most. They were family and had been for the longest time.
The group of them, including Bliss made a great team as they fought enemies, and became more than friends. More than family. They became a life worth living.

I did love the small crossover from the Witches series, in which Arthur Beauchamp made an appearance, and a worthy one as he helped out the boys when they first came topside, as a promise to Gabrielle. I didn't even realize they knew each other, less alone that they were friends of any sort. Wasn't it said that Vampires and Witches didn't interact with one another, or they didn't get involved in each others affairs? But I guess it wasn't always that way.
While Melissa did mention this book was to be read in preparation for Gates of Paradise.... I don't think that was because it revealed things, well I guess in this case it did reveal Lucifer's plan, but I think it was to introduce Lawson and his relationship with Bliss. We would then understand who he was, as I can imagine he will be featured in Gates of Paradise. It would be easier, as we wouldn't be so confused when that time came.

Overall, this was a great spinoff for Bliss. did completed her mission and got something she never counted on. Family. Acceptance and a home.

I look forward to reading the final installment to the Blue Bloods series. My copy is on the way to me right now. This book for all those loyal fans of this series, and it's a book not to miss.

First I would like to Katrina  for hosting the Blue Bloods read a long. I was lucky enough not only to win two of the monthly give a ways, but I won the grand prize in which included the paperback of Wolf Pact. Since pretty much in the US you can only get the e books. Isn't the cover beautiful?

Back to the review. Honestly as excited I was to read the book, I was also a little hesitated since I have seen a lot of negative reviews. That will teach me to base my decisions on reviews. I completely trust Cruz. I don't think I've read anything by her that I've been disappointed in. Even though it's technically not considered part of the Blue Bloods series, I think it should be. Especially since I do believe Cruz even said herself that we should read Wolf Pact before Gates of Paradise. 

The book picks up right after Sky and Jack's bonding. I wasn't sure what to think about in the beginning. It was kind of odd. But I quickly came to love Lawson and all of the pack. And if you are fans of her Witches series, Arthur Beauchamp makes an appearance in this book. Which I found I love when characters from these two series shows up in the other. Arthur has taken up the task in helping the wolves fit in today's world. A favor Gabrielle has asked him. Even once the pack has realized they can fit it, they still have to stay on the move. The hell hounds are hunting them determined to drag them back to hell.

Bliss has been given the task to tame the hell hounds and bring them back in the fold. But instead of finding the hounds, she finds Lawson's pack. At first both aren't sure to trust either one. But when Bliss speaks their ancient language Lawson knows she's not an enemy. Both understanding what it feels like to lose the one you love. I'm glad to see that Bliss has decided to move on with her life and let Dylan go. But Lawson and Tala...I never really thought that Lawson was really in love with Tala. He only thought he was.

One of the reasons why I love Cruz's books is because they take no time to read. Not to mention hard to put the book down. The book didn't really have any clues for the last Blue Bloods book, but it does let you know Lucifer's plan. It also got me thinking. Bliss true name, the one her mother gave her means Wolfbane. And it was noted in this book she has a wolf quality to her. Is there more to Bliss than we thought?

I think this is the only time Bliss is glad that Lucifer is her father. The hounds are scared of her. And because of who she is, she was able to save the wolves. The only disappointing thing about this book is how it ended. I wanted more. And hopefully we will see more of Lawson in Gates of Paradise. Also another thing that bother me was more of a editorial mistake. There was a couple of things in the book that should of been capitalize that wasn't. But really loving the story and plot, they were easy to look over.

The third book picks up exactly where the second book left off. The PI has finally gotten in touch with Daniel's adoptive parents. And they have come to the camp to meet Kylie. But the meeting doesn't last long before Holiday makes them leave. Derek had found the P.I. attacked in his office, and after some investigation, the couples weren't the real Brightens. Confused on why humans would pose as them, Perry was sent out to tail them but they completely vanished in thin air. The only issue I had with this, was I could tell something wasn't right to begin with. The P.I. wouldn't of told the Brightens where Kylie was. Maybe give them her number, but he was looking for them not the other way around.

Then we have the ghost issue. This one doesn't seem to know anything, including who she is. Not to mention she doesn't even have a brain pattern! Not to mention the creepy message she keeps telling Kylie. And of course it takes the whole book to figure it out. I kind of find it strange that every ghost that comes to her has some personal tie to Kylie. The first two was understandable. But this one? Don't get me wrong I loved how it worked out. But it seemed way to easy.

To address the boy issues. Just because she has chosen Lucas doesn't mean anything. Deep down Kylie still feel something for Derek. I think a lot of her choice had to do that Kylie found out that while out on assignment, Derek ran into his ex and ended up sleeping together. Not to mention her brought her back to Shadow Falls with him. Even so, I believe Kylie made the wrong choice. I have no doubt that Lucas cares for her. But he's too overprotective. Not to mention he doesn't understand her the way Derek does, especially when it comes to ghosts. Lucas even had a few lines that made my heart melt. But he's too damn insistent that he's hoping Kylie is a were. Wouldn't that make life so easy, since his pack won't allow him to be with someone that isn't were. But the question is can he put his and Kylie's relationship over his pack's needs and wants? I'm pretty sure the answer is no.

The secondary characters are amazing. I love Burnette so much. And I'm so glad him and Holiday FINALLY got together. It was about time. And Perry. I love Perry so much. And the scene with him meeting Miranda's date was hilarious.

We can't forget the main plot. Red and Mario are still at large and are still attempting to get Kylie. She even has some kind of evil shifter protecting her from dangers. I honestly felt bad for Red at the end. He gave his life so Kyle could live.

And Kylie finally finds out what she really is. Which I so called it last book. She's a chameleon, which wasn't fully explained. But I'm guessing that's why her different gifts are from different species, and why her brain pattern changes so much, and even reverting back to a human pattern.

I'm really loving this series. And as much as I hate love triangles, I like how this one is approach. You can't be 100% sure who Kylie will end up with. Take notes other YA authors. This is how a real triangle is done.

I'm not sure why it took me so long to read the second book in this breath taking series. The story picks up not long after the first one had left off. Kylie has finally realized that she is a supernatural and even discover who her biological father is. Too bad that he had died before she was born. Not only does Kylie have identity issues, she still has boy issues. You would think her choice would be easier to make since Lucas had ran off with another girl. But he's still sending her letters and she can't completely forget about him.

In this book we see her manifest some additional powers. During the vampire ceremony she discovers to her horror that she likes the taste of blood, plus she has incredible speed. But the fun for Kylie doesn't stop there. Over night her hair, feet, and boobs have grown significantly. Which that part would fit in with being a werewolf, plus she's been moody around the full moon cycle. But either one doesn't explain anything. Her body temperature is the same so she can't be a vampire. For being a werewolf, her gift as being a ghost whisper and her new one, dreamscaping, aren't known as were gifts. Plus the fact that she's never turned which weres do at a young age.

Kylie doesn't have time to think too much on what she is. Another ghost has shown up and tells her that someone she loves will die and she has the power to save her. Kylie has never clue where to start. Along with identity and ghost issues, there's been an uninvited vampire at the camp. Plus Kylie gets the feeling of someone following her.

And now her boy troubles. Last book I wasn't completely sure who I wanted to see her with, even though I was leaning towards Team Derek. I'm now proud to announce that I'm fully on Team Derek. I found Lucas very annoying. And all that mystery and bad boy vibe he had in last book has vanished. I understand she feels a connection towards him, but I feel like a pushing fated vibe from him. They were neighbors when they were what 6-7 years old? Yet Lucas knew at that age she's the one for him? And he told her he's been waiting 11 years to be with her? He didn't live next to her for long, and how did he know he would see her again? Or that she was a supernatural at that age? Even told her he would watch her though her bedroom window and hope to see her change into a were. Creepy. Now Derek on the other hand, he's perfect for Kylie. At one point I wanted to lock both of them in a closet. But Kylie's not sure her true feelings for either boy and Derek refuses to wait forever for her.

I couldn't put this book down. My only issue is I feel like the writing was a little immature in the beginning. Everyone made a big deal out of kissing. Almost like it's sex. Kissing is just kissing. You can kiss someone and not have it mean something. I had to recheck the ages of the characters. From that you would thought they were 14-15 and not 17-18. I'm very anxious to find out what Kylie really is, I'm starting to think she is some sort of a mix of supernatural species.

Riley is long overdue for a vacation. There is only so much a girl can take before breaking. Which is exactly what Riley is doing in the beginning of the book. No surprise that her vacation is cut short. A woman from her pack has disappeared and they want her to solve it. If she refuses they have threatened to kill her mother. Which Riley still holds a soft spot for. I think I was more surprise than Riley that her old pack wants her help. Apparently even though she has been kicked out and if she comes anywhere near them she will be killed, doesn't mean she is out of the pack completely. She still has to obey the alpha. Pretty messed up right?

I kind of wished we actually got to see Riley's mother. I want to see her reunited with her children. From at least Riley's point of view, she did love them. I think the thing I loved most about this book was no Quinn! I'm not naive enough to think that he won't return. But he's good for Riley.

The case leads Riley to perhaps the most dangerous hunt of her life. Barely coming out of it alive, she has finally made a chose to become exclusive with alpha wolf Kellen. But it's too late. Kellen has finally realized that he will never be first in Riley's thoughts, and has told her it's over. Broke my heart. I was kind of hoping he would be the one for her.

I can't wait to catch up on the other books and see what lies ahead for her.

 I've been slacking off on my reviews, and since I read this book a good month ago this will more than likely be a short review. I'm amazed how much I'm loving the series with each book, considering I wasn't impressed by the first book. I'm so glad I didn't write the series off after that one.

Riley and Rhoan is following a new vampire that they believe is responsible for a string of murders. Which also leads them to Gunther, the rogue vampire who wants to kill Riley. Gunter gets away, after Riley decided it was more important to try to save a child's life than kill Gunter. But not before Gunter challenge them to a game.

And of course the case Quinn is following ends up being linked to Riley's. Which I still say I hate him. I think he's an ass to Riley. He wants her to change who she is, and will never understand her. I do loved the ending of the book and help he stays away for a while.

Overall it was a great book.

 The book picks about about six months or so after the end of the second one. Riley has been busy training to go undercover. But when the timetable gets moved up, Riley is unsure if she can pull it off. Even though, Jack manages to keep Quinn out of the loop on when the mission is going active, Quinn is smarter than Jack. 

It doesn't take long for Riley to capture the attention of Deshon Starr's lieutenants, or even Deshon Starr himself. He claims that Riley looks familiar, and even hints that he knows her true identity. It's not until she goes to brunch with Starr, and sees what he has in mind for the entertainment. Rhoan, undercover as security is set to fight one of Starr's creations. Riley knows that Starr knows who Rhoan is, and suspects who she is as well. Riley is growing more uncertain if she will make it out alive. 

I'm really starting to love this series. Not as much of Kade in this book as I would like. And I want to see more of Kellen. Still not feeling Quinn and Riley as a couple. And I simply adore Rhoan. I just have a soft spot for sibling relationships. Liander isn't in the books nearly enough either. Hopefully at the end of the series Rhoan will finally settle down with him. 

All in all this series keeps getting better with each book.
