 Meet Aria. She lives in a pod protected from the outside world. Inside the pod she has everything she has ever wanted. She can go into any realm/world she wants and no harm done to her. Plus they don't ever get sick or even get periods (lucky girl). But her mother is away on business and the communication line with the pod she is on has gone done. She just knows something is wrong. To try to get information she convinces the son of one of the consuls to break in one of the sectors that is damage. From there things go wrong. But there's an outsider, Perry, who had broke in at the same time and saved Aria.

But Aria pays the sacrifices and gets thrown into the outside. And Perry just happens to stumble across her and saves her from eventually dying. But Perry needs Aria. To the outsiders or savages as they are often referred to, Aria is a Dweller. Perry's nephew has been kidnapped by them, and he has to get them back and Aria seems to be his only hope.

The book and the world building is interesting. And very different. But I just couldn't really connect to the characters. I liked them as individuals, but Aria and Perry as a couple I couldn't get into. I felt like them falling in love came out of nowhere. They initially hate each other, but one day they started being friends and then bam they are in love. *rolleyes* I did love Roar.

I felt like all the reveals in the book was very predictable. I could see them coming all along.  The book was ok. But it didn't interest me enough to continue with the series.

Aria has struggled to build a life for herself outside Reverie. It hasn't be easy adjusting to life in the wilderness but that struggle has been worth it with Perry by her side.

But Perry has other challenges. His people are looking to him for answers. Answers about what happened to his nephew and what's happening to their world. And they don't trust the priviledged Aria, one of the enemy, in their midst.

Soon he'll be forced to chose between the tribe that looks to him for leadership and the girl that looks to him for love.

Under the Never Sky was one of my favourite books of 2011, which was Veronica Rossi's debut novel. It definitely was worth the hype it had attracted at the time. Veronica seemed to give off a certain style and vibe in her writing, and especially during this story where it's impossible not to fall in love with this world and these characters.

Through the Ever Night is no exception to the rule. One of the most anticipated books for the first half of 2013, it was everything I could have wanted in a sequel. This book did not suffer the second book syndrome, but opposite to the fact actually.
The last we left Perry and Aria, Perry had just become the Blood Lord and Aria had her own things to deal with, so they went their separate ways with promises to come back together.
As months roll by, we see what these two have been up to and when they do reunite, it's not as they had imagined as there is so much still going on.
Perry is trying to deal with those under his command and that he has to lead, and Aria finds herself amongst his camp, which his people none to happy about the fact she is there.
They too hate what she is and stands for, pretty much Perry's reaction when they had first met.

Roar has his own story going on as he and Aria head to find Liv, the love of his life, but sometimes things don't go as planned. Heartbreak ensues and there is no guarantee anyone will survive what lays in wait for them there.

I really love the relationship between Perry and Aria. It's something that keeps growing every moment they spend together. One of the few books that does not have a love triangle, thank goodness. You can really get sick of them and not all books in YA genre that they are needed, and this is a story where a love story between two characters is strong and entertaining enough without any outside obstacles.
The friendships between Aria and Roar and Perry and Roar are two of my favourite friendships in this series, and where two friends can get along without any girls getting in between them.

This was a great installment to this series and I look forward to seeing how this story ends in the conclusion.

If you have yet to start this series, i'd recommend getting on that ASAP.
